Made it through. Traffic jams that involve chickens, people arguing in k’iche, & collapsing mountains are even more lively than la.
(Guate) stuck en route to higher pueblo @8k’ alt. Half a rock hillside fell into road overnight. We wait, w/ local folks, trucks of animals.
(Guate): dawn in altiplano. Endless milpas of tall dead cornstalks. Frost fading as sun rises, with smoke from sod huts.
oh man, screaming crying punching the wall. this year has been rough. i hope for nothing more than change

clarification: they expect Guat cell svc to be mostly crapped out starting at like 11pm on NYE. 3 big providers here: Tigo, Movistar, Claro.
